I'm Dr Kara Keefe and I'm so glad you are here

I am a board-certified family medicine physician with training in lifestyle medicine who has opted out of the current healthcare system with its long wait times, surprise co-pays and short, rushed visits dictated by everything except what should be at the center of medical care – the patient and their physician. I am starting Rooted Direct Primary Care so I can get back to what I love about practicing medicine: building relationships with patients in order to deliver high quality, personalized care and support for them as they navigate their individual wellness journeys.

The Direct Primary Care model seeks to re-focus medical care by putting you back at the center. Patients pay an affordable monthly membership fee and have access to their personal physician through text, calls, and email. As a direct care physician, I do not accept insurance payments. This means no matter your insurance coverage (or lack thereof), I can see you in the office, over the phone or via telemedicine without you worrying about whether the visit will be covered. Once you elect to join Rooted Direct Primary Care, you can see me the same or next day for acute concerns, or you can setup longer visit times to discuss new or more complex issues, and have a true wellness exam to review bloodwork, discuss recommended screenings and vaccinations along with a comprehensive physical exam. In Direct Primary Care, you meet with me as often as necessary for your specific needs. In other words, your care is centered on you and is not dictated by insurance and plan coverage. The idea is to support you and your goals in order to keep you and your family healthy and thriving so you can live your best lives.
